Glyphosate

Asked June 14, 2020, 4:31 AM EDT

Glyphosate causes various kinds of lymphoma cancers in animals and humans, resulting in huge economic costs, not to mention massive human suffering - which as a cancer nurse, I witness daily. Is it ethical to recommend using such a dangerous substance to kill bindweed

Thank you for your question. I am uncertain whether you are asking whether it is unethical for you to make such a recommendation, or whether it is unethical for Extension services to do the same. The science on this is inconclusive, we are governed by the laws and regulations of state and federal jurisdictions, and rarely get involved in ethical issues. What ethical standards govern you are out of our control.
