What's ravaging my perennials?

Asked June 13, 2020, 12:53 PM EDT

What is spreading quickly through my perennials? In this photo are Veronica, Cranesbill geranium and Eupatorium. This happened last year, too. NO insects in sight on any of these plants. Fungus?
How should I treat it?

Washtenaw County Michigan

Thank you for using the Ask an Expert service. This damage looks consistent with fourlined plant bug damage to me. They are very quick and hard to catch in action!
