Mushroom ID

Asked June 10, 2020, 2:24 PM EDT

I realize it may not be possible, but I was curious about what variety of mushroom has recently been growing in my backyard? I have a few types, but this is by far the most abundant. My biggest concern is if they could be harmful to my dog if he eats one. I pick them every morning and whenever I see them, but they grow incredibly fast. Thanks!

We do not have the in-house expertise to do specific mushroom identification beyond the most common wood-decay mushrooms. There are many "look-alikes" and mushroom identification is complex (involving spore prints, etc.). https://extension.psu.edu/identifying-mushrooms

This page from the North American Mycological Association has some helpful information concerning mushrooms and dogs.
