How to cut back an overgrown euonymous

Asked June 9, 2020, 5:47 PM EDT

Can I severely cut back this huge euonymus in the 2 attached photos - ideally to near ground level, or to a very low level? If not, how far can I cut it back and at what time of year? During or after the growing season? It's healthy and blossoming now. Thank you.

Once your shrub is finished blooming, you can prune it back by 1/2. This link has wonderful information on how to do it. https://www.hunker.com/12420051/how-to-prune-my-euonymus-shrub
