Grass Identification 2

Can you identify the grass in these pictures with the narrow stems and bumpy seed clusters? Is it an invasive non-native?

Hi - This looks like a type of sedge (Carex sp.). There are about 180 species of Carex that are documented in Maryland. Some are native species, some are not. You can explore photos of them on the Maryland Biodiversity Project website.

Sedge identification is a specialty that involves looking at the seeds of the plants. We are not able to make a further determination from the photos and can only say it resembles a type of sedge.
