Blindness in setting chicken

Asked May 31, 2020, 4:03 PM EDT

Chicken established new nest after 1st was destroyed about 10 days on it. She sat at first couple days then refused. However, she’s now stumbling about in the coop unable to see and still acting broody. She has been placed back on her nest but stamps out of the box. How do I help her get back on track.

Broody behavior is a hormone driven process stimulated by a nest full of eggs. Once disrupted it can take weeks for a hen to go broody again. Allow her a nest with eggs and give her time to be re-stimulated to broody behavior. This process can't be forced.
