Spouse medical bills

Iam I liable for my deceased spouses medical bills.

Thanks for asking this question. According to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) which regulates debts, you might not be liable for your deceased spouse's medical debts, depending on several factors. See these articles:

This article https://www.canr.msu.edu/news/are_you_responsible_for_the_debt_of_your_deceased_spouse states: "As Michigan is not a community property state, if a loan or credit card was held only in the name of the deceased spouse, the surviving spouse is not responsible for the debt. In addition, if you are listed as an authorized user or second account holder on the accounts of the deceased, you are not responsible for those debts."
