Pond becoming cesspool due to flooding

Asked May 27, 2020, 4:33 PM EDT

Is there a pond expert that we could talk to? We have a 2 1/2 acre pond,16 foot deep with island in the middle. We live in Au Gres and had historic rainfall last week and major flooding. Our pond has about a foot of chopped cornstalks that we need to remove, sink, or dispose of in some way. Can you give us ideas? With this intense heat, it is becoming a huge, stinky cesspool and it is our front yard!!

There are a variety of lake/ pond management companies that may have harvesting equipment that can remove floating debris. Otherwise, I think it would need to be manually removed, which would be a monumental task.
