I am a flower grower and am having trouble with cutworms destroying my transplants. In particular they like my zinnias. I have about 500 zinnias to plant and cannot make collars for them. I put diatomaceous earth around them but that doesn’t seem to be working. Does the diatomaceous earth need to be reapplied after it gets damp? If I work the diatomaceous earth into the soil will it help kill the cutworms? Any other suggestions would be helpful.

Hello. Are you a commercial grower? MSUE has services available that are different from those for homeowners. Would you like me to refer you?
