Weeping willow

Asked May 25, 2020, 8:34 AM EDT

My weeping willow tree died at the top and has sprouts of healthy leaves at the base. Will it live? It is planted close to my pond.

I think the cause of the problem might be the two frost/freezes we had this spring. Many of the plants that leafed out early lost the new growth. Many trees will eventually sprout new growth from the damaged branches. I don't know the condition of your tree but with healthy leaves at the base there is potential that it will live.
