Bug or fungus on sweet potato vine?

Asked May 24, 2020, 2:19 PM EDT

I have three planters with sweet potato vines in them, all on my driveway. Two of the planters vines are just fine, but one planter both of the vines have sickly looking brown leaves. My mom said it could be some kind of fungus? Do I need to get rid of these plants or can they be fixed? Thank you!!

It looks like it can be a fungus from excessive water. Remove the leaves that are turned colors and discard of them as the spores will spread the disease. Let the soil dry more between waterings and that should help.
