What I was told is a goathead Burr is not what am seeing by pics from last years 4x4 patch has gone
It's hard to say for certain because there are no closeups to see details of the flowers, leaves, seeds, etc. and we can't zoom in to see the details. It is possible it is sandbur, a grassy weed found growing in sandy soils with low nutrition, but again I would need better images/samples to properly ID the plant. Submit additional pictures or take some samples to your local OSU Cooperative Extension Office for help. You might look up sandburs and see if that matches what you are seeing.
