Deer eating my hostas

Asked May 23, 2020, 4:52 PM EDT

Few years ago, In the Garden tour in Fenton, Genesee County, we were told about some bags of deer repellent, that we could hang on posts in garden to keep deer away. Can not remember the name, but be thankful and great full, if you can share the name of product and where we can purchase or order. Thank you Larry Elliott Flushing, Mi

Greetings. I have attached a couple of resources to help you with your deer problem. I agree with you, It does seem like they are very aggressive this season. Research has shown pretty good results with spray on repellents. The bags you mention (not sure if they are available anymore) and soap hung in the garden do give off a scent, but combined with a tast repellant, they work much better. Please remember that reapplication is necessary, especially in spring when plants like hosta are putting on new growth.
