Boxwoods invested with something

Asked May 23, 2020, 12:19 PM EDT

We have had boxwoods surrounding our patio for over 10 years. They have always been pretty healthy and hardy. At the beginning of the spring they looked ok, now there are brown spots and when I looked closer I see a lot of bug activity and some larva. Can you tell me what is the problem and how to correct it? Hoping not to have to use pesticides because these bushes surround our patio and we also have a dog. Thank you!
