Pachysandra/Violets(creepers)

How can I eradicate creeping violets in an established bed of pachysandra - +/- 200 sq ft.. ? Mike

There are no easy answers and very difficult to get rid of. You can manually hand dig or use a weeding tool when the ground is soft. If you want to use an herbicide, look for glyphosate and follow label directions. You would have to protect the plants from spray or drift as it is a total vegetation killer. You will have to spray in spring and fall.

Some may want to leave them. They are native, and they do have wildlife value. In particular, they are the larval food source for fritillary butterflies. https://extension.umd.edu/hgic/topics/wild-violet
