Gelatinous blob in cass lake (oakland county)

Asked May 22, 2020, 5:51 PM EDT

I’ve been swimming in Cass Lake in Oakland County my entire life and have never seen any large gelatinous blobs like this before yesterday. I’m reading that it could possibly be bryozoan. Next time I’ll take video because the picture isn’t that great. Can you confirm it is likely bryozoan?

Hello,

Unfortunately, it looks like your pictures did not upload onto the website, so I cannot confirm it is a bryozoan or not.

Here's an article that might be of some help though: https://www.canr.msu.edu/news/alien-looking-blob-discovered-in-southern-michigan-lake

Feel free to send a picture.
