Linden sparse leaves

Asked May 22, 2020, 4:12 PM EDT

This linden tree was planted 22 years ago. Last year and this year there aren’t many leaves inside the periphery. Is this normal for a tree this size? We have an irrigation system so gets watered.

Usually a linden does appear more dense. Your tree does appear to have many, many branches. It could be that it would benefit from a good pruning by a certified arborist. They also could check the health of your tree when making a preliminary onsite visit to give you an estimate. You can find a certified arborist by visiting this site and clicking on Find An Arborist. Once your location information is filled in a list of certified arborists in your area will appear: https://www.treesaregood.org/
