Mystery Tree

Asked May 20, 2020, 11:42 AM EDT

I provided a phot of a tree last summer asking for identification. The person that responded agreed that it did appear to be out of place, sort of tropical. I took additional photo's last week and they are attached. It appears that the tree is undisturbed, not removed for the winter. Plus I have driven by and it remained. Please see attached photos of tree fully leafed out, spring bloom, blooms. Thank you

Hello,

Thanks so much for the additional pictures. After passing this by several folks at MSU, we believe this is a dwarf peach. While the fruit may not develop, it is a beautiful plant.

There are several dwarf and weeping forms, ones with double flowers and various flower colors. Often a short-lived tree.
