Hi- Do the blackened areas on your mint plants look like tiny spots? Four-lined plant bug nymphs are active now and might be responsible for the issue you are seeing. It would be helpful if you could attach a photo and we can take a look.

Four-lined plant bugs suck on plant sap and seem to favor plants in the mint family. Plants typically outgrow the damage by mid-summer. Here is our page about them. https://extension.umd.edu/hgic/topics/plant-bugs
And here is more information from Penn State, https://extension.psu.edu/four-lined-plant-bugs-are-active-now.

If this is not the type of damage you are seeing, please send us photos and we will take a look. You can attach up to three photos at a time.
