Will osmocote hurt chickens?

There is really no way of knowing. As a fertilizer Osmocote contains some toxic compounds but they are not overly toxic. Much depends of the formulation, I believe there are some different formulations for different uses. And it depends on the amount the birds consume, they generally will not consume very much of these items. Chances are that you will not see and significant issues with the birds. Make sure they have access to water and feed. Any major issues will be noticed within hours of consumption. If there are egg layers, discard the eggs for a couple of weeks, as any fat soluable toxins can be deposited in eggs for up to 2 weeks after consumption.
