Optimal termite control?

Asked May 12, 2020, 11:19 AM EDT

Hello, we have termites beginning to swarm in our Rockville home. We're considering two proposals: 1. One for just Termidor treatment in trenching/drilling around the home perimeter, and 2. The other for just treatment with Termidor in the one sector where infestation was spotted, in combination with bait traps circumventing the home. Which solution appears more likely to treat the current problem and prevent future infestation? Thank you, John

Termite control can depend upon your situation, where the termites are, where they are coming from, etc. We cannot make a decision for you. At this point we recommend that you get another estimate for more information. You have time to do your research as you are doing and This may help in your decision making. You have to feel comfortable with the pest control operator, products used, and what they are doing for your situation.

Companies should fully disclose information on the chemical that they will be using in the treatment. Companies that are members of the Maryland Pest Control Association and the National Pest Control Association have access to all current treatment practices. You can find credentialed pest control professionals using this list. https://www.marylandpest.org/aws/MSPCA/pt/sp/wdio-inspector-quality-assurance-program
