No Mow Lawn in Edgewater

Hello, Can you recommend a "no mow" lawn for Edgewater? We are about 1/2 mile from the Bay on Selby Blvd and Central Avenue. Thank you

We are not sure what you mean by no mow. We do not know the site conditions - sun versus shade, how large the lawn area is, etc. Take a look at our webpage on lawn alternatives, what to plant instead of grass, and options.
One option mentioned is a A No/Mow area but that is usually a large area of land (several acres) that will go through natural stages of succession. https://extension.umd.edu/hgic/topics/lawn-alternatives

Some thoughts. Consider keeping areas closest to your house for the lawn area and other options further away. Consider some Ornamental beds. Look for low maintenance options such as low growing ornamental grasses or a mix of sun perennials/groundcovers. Try to use natives if you can and you want a healthy balanced landscape.

If you wanted to mow less - For an area that gets about 50/50 shade or a sunny low maintenance location we would recommend using a fine fescue grass like hard fescue. Hard fescue, however, does not handle foot-traffic very well, does not like a lot of fertilizer, and needs good drainage. See more https://extension.umd.edu/hgic/topics/starting-new-lawn#comparing
