Something is eating my strawberries

Asked May 4, 2020, 3:37 PM EDT

I put a fine mesh over my berries and tacked over my raised bed. There is also wire on the bottom of the bed to prevent animals from burrowing from the bottom. However, as soon as the berries reach the perfect red to pick, “someone” takes usually just one - sometimes more - bite out of each. Can you help?

It's hard to really say. A picture of partially eaten fruit may give us some clues as to what may be eating it. One pest that it could be is slugs or snails. They wouldn't be deterred by the netting. Tonight you could put out some trays with beer in it to see if that attracts any. Put them close to where you've seen the damage.
