When growing black turtle beans is the phytohaemagglutinin level too high to eat safely as uncooked immature fresh green beans (string beans)?

Good Morning,

Raw black turtle beans and kidney beans have the highest concentrations of PHA or phytohaemagglutinin compared to other types of raw beans. The FDA recommends boiling the beans for at least 30 minutes to ensure that the beans reach sufficient temperature, for a sufficient amount of time, to completely destroy the toxin.
