In looking at the images, it appears that the rock is a weathered pegmatite. According to the geology of San Bernardino County, CA, there are granitic units throughout the area.https://maps.conservation.ca.gov/cgs/gmc/
Pegmatites form when magma bodies cool slowly. They aren't as common as the different varieties of granite where the minerals are still visible (like salt and pepper). In the case of pegmatites, the minerals grow larger. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pegmatite
