recycle broken pottery

Asked April 18, 2020, 10:22 AM EDT

I have been putting broken terra cotta pots in my pots for drainage for 50+ years. So glad to hear from Rebecca yesterday that I don't need to! However, now what do I do with my big bucket of pot pieces. Can they be recycled some how? Hate to put it in the landfill. Sara Borisch

Greetings! Thank you for the nice response about yesterday's webinar. You may not be able to use all the pieces, but the flat ones you can us for a mosaic of sorts in cement stepping stones in the garden. Simply get a form, such as a large plastic saucer and fill with prepared cement. While it is wet, press the colorful terra cotta pot pieces into it, trying to keep the surface as smooth as possible. Fun!
