too late for a pre-emergent?

Asked April 8, 2020, 6:21 PM EDT

Hi, I'm located in Colorado Springs and we've had some warm days this week. It will be in 50-60 degrees in the next few days and followed by low temps and snow. I've read that applying a pre-emergent can occur mid-March to early April. I missed the mid-March time frame.

Is it too late to apply a pre-emergent?

Thank you for your question about preemergent application. It is ideal to apply preemergent herbicides before weed seed germinates and appears. However, we are still early in that process and you would probably still get substantial benefit from preventing seed which hasn't germinated from sprouting as the growing season progresses. Hope this helps. If you have additional questions just reopen this question.
