Indoor growing systems

Asked April 2, 2020, 10:37 AM EDT

Year after year of failed outdoor gardening and I was wondering about the indoor growing systems. I would like to grow herbs and a variety of lettuce plants. Since most of these are kits, I was wondering if just a simple growlight may be best? Just put plants in regular pots with a growlight? If that might work, what type of light would be best?

Growing plants outdoors in a garden or containers is usually much easier than growing plants indoors.

Herbs can be grown indoors under a standard fluorescent fixture with two 32- or 40-watt tubes. The fluorescent lights should be positioned no more than 4-6 inches above the plants. Keep the lights on for 12-16 hours each day.

Grow lights can also be used, but they are more expensive.
