Hi, my question is about refrigerating ketchup. Is it true that I one should never refrigerate ketchup?

Ketchup is high in acid so is shelf stable but to maintain quality it is recommended that it be stored in the refrigerator after opening. It is not a safety issue but a quality issue. In restaurants they usually do not refrigerate ketchup because they go through it fast and it maintains quality, however at home we usually don't consume it that fast so it is suggested to refrigerate once opened to maintain quality.
