If we didn't fertilize in the Fall, when should we fertilize? Thanks.

This will depend on which type of grass you have (fescue versus zoysia) and what a soil test recommends (https://extension.umd.edu/hgic/topics/soil-testing). Following the recommendations here https://extension.umd.edu/hgic/topics/lawn-fertilizing and here https://extension.umd.edu/hgic/topics/ume-lawn-fertilizer-schedule-home-lawns, you can fertilize May to early June. By using the results of a soil test, you can avoid applying nutrients that are not needed (minimizing pollution and the cost of those ingredients) and focus on replenishing the nutrients that may be deficient.
