pear tree pests

Asked February 26, 2020, 2:11 PM EST

I have a pear tree in my backyard that produces a high yield of pears but they almost all have worms in them. Is there a safe way or even a one-time spray that we can use to stop this from happening?

https://pnwhandbooks.org/insect/tree-fruit/pear/pear-codling-moth. No, there is no one-time use material for this pest. In this article they offer info for home owners and you can avoid the very toxic ones. On a dwarf tree as soon as the petals begin to fall you can cover the tree with a barrier cloth. Each pear can also be encased in a special sock which is sold individually. Good
luck.
