Hoop house

Asked February 19, 2020, 2:19 PM EST

I learned a neighbor of my parents got a grant for a hoop house. I am attempting to start sustainability feeding my family and would like too know what is available for help with infrastructure. Like a hoop house, fencing, and animal housing. I have 7.5 acres in Powell township.

There is a 'cost share' program through USDA NRCS for farmers interested in putting up high tunnels (hoop houses). You would need to be involved in a commercial agriculture business (small is OK) to apply. https://www.nrcs.usda.gov/wps/portal/nrcs/detailfull/national/programs/?cid=stelprdb1046250

I am not aware of any true 'grants' giving people money to put up hoop houses for their own personal gardening. However, an opportunity like this may exist, or become available. I suggest you contact the local USDA NRCS office -
