I burn black walnut in my outdoor furnace, are the ashes from my burner toxic to horses?

The primary concern with black walnut in horses is using wood shavings from these trees as bedding, which can lead to lameness. The toxic aspect is an organic compound that would be destroyed during the burning. Thus, I would anticipate no problem with contact by horses with the ashes from burning of black walnut wood.
