The EPA has banned Lime Sulfur for non-commercial use; the typical homeowner can no longer legally obtain or use this product. I have included this link for your information. Even though this bulletin is from Washington State University it still is relevant to Oregon.

As an alternative to Lime Sulfur is Horticultural Oil which can be purchased from your neighborhood nursery or any store that has a good garden center. Common Brand Names include:

Bonide All Seasons Horticultural and Dormant Spray Oil

Earth-tone® Horticultural Oil (Canola oil)

Ferti-lome Oil Spray Concentrate & RTS

Hi-Yield Dormant Oil Spray

Monterey Saf-T-Side Horticultural Oil

Natria Multi Insect Control Concentrate (Canola oil)

Natria Multi Insect Control RTS (Canola oil)

Ortho Volck Oil Spray

Sunspray Ultra-Fine Spray Oil

Sunspray Ultra-Fine Year Round Pesticidal Oil

Before applying, as with any “cide”, read the label carefully and thoroughly on the brand you have selected. Apply the product according to the instructions on the label. Good luck and happy gardening.
