Green Builders - Tiny Homes

Asked February 2, 2020, 9:39 PM EST

Hello, I am struggling to find a list of tiny home builders in the U.S. that specialize in green design. For example, builders that use recycled materials and non toxic products. Many of the websites mention sustainability but provide not details. Is there a certification that I can look for on the builders' websites? Thank you so much for any assistance you can provide.

Thank you for contacting Ask an Expert. We don’t have a specialist in this area, but I recommend you look for housing developers that have experience with LEED certified buildings.

LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is a green building certification system that provides third-party verification that a building was designed and built using environmentally friendly strategies, including: energy savings, water efficiency, CO2 emissions reduction, improved indoor environmental quality, and stewardship of resources and sensitivity to their impacts.
