Edible Edema?
I bought collard greens from Mom's in Bowie. While prepping them for cooking I noticed raised bumps. Searching the internet I understand that the bumps are edema. After reading several articles I still do not know if the collard greens with edema on the leaves are edible or harmful. Please let me know if Edema is edible or if I should get rid of them. Thank you for your response.

If the plants have edema on the foliage, they are edible. Here is our webpage on edema and vegetables https://extension.umd.edu/hgic/topics/edema-vegetables

Thank you for getting back to me. I stuck them in the freezer (cut up) until I heard a response. I will cook them soon!
You're welcome!
