Do you know what this is? It was about the size of my hand and slightly rubbery. I found it in my yard after a large tree fell after a heavy rainstorm. Front and back photos attached.

Hello!. I recently saw a sample of this, It was brought to a gathering of Master Gardeners participating in a wreath making event before Christmas. It is a lichen. The MG who brought it in had a similar story of it falling from a tree after a heavy rain. It was so beautiful several used it as an accent (the underneath side) in their wreaths. Here is a website where you can learn more about lichens from the US Forest Service. https://www.fs.fed.us./wildflowers/beauty/lichens/gallery/foliose/index.shtml
