watering garden with a well

Asked December 23, 2019, 5:13 PM EST

I have a vegetable garden that id like to water using soaker hoses or drip tape. its about 5,000SF. my house uses a well for water. i've been told by multiple people that this will damage my well pump due to the pump cycling more often. Is this true? I do have a bladder type pressure tank in the house. Is there anything I can do to prevent this damage? Are there any other thing I should be concerned about using a well to irrigate my garden? Thank You.

Hello. Sorry I cannot help you with your technical question about your well. It may be best to call the company that services your well to consult with them about using drip irrigation and possible stress to your well. If you are using the well for your home and drinking the water it should be fine for your plants.
