Watering citrus trees in the winter

Asked December 4, 2019, 3:52 PM EST

We have a Meyers lemon tree and a lime tree both in pots. We place them in an outdoor shed in the winter with broader lights that come on between 35-40 degrees to prevent freezing. My question is how often should we water them and how much. Thank you! Barb

I have two Meyer lemons in pots as well. I water them enough to keep the soil moist, as they are evergreen so even though it is cool, presumably they are still transpiring and require moisture in the soil.

Thank you Neil for your expertise! I will keep them moist through the winter! Have a wonderful Holiday season!! Barb
