Spruce tree needles browning

Asked October 23, 2019, 12:23 PM EDT

Can you tell me if my Spruce tree is dying or diseased? The interior needles are browning and dropping. I love this tree. :(

It is difficult for me to positively id the condition from which your spruce is suffering. I suspect a mite infestation, possibly spruce spider mites. These tiny creatures have piercing - sucking mouth parts and feed on the sap of the tree found in the tree's needles. Here's a link for more information as well as directions on how you can determine if you tree is heavily infested with mites:

I recommend that you consult a certified arborist to examine your tree, diagnose the problem, and advise you on treatment. Here's a link to locate a certified arborist in your area: https://www.treesaregood.org/findanarborist/findanarborist
I think that if you get professional help now that you will be able to save your tree!
