Gardener snakes

We have an extreme problem with gardener snakes. We believe we have two snake pits in our yard. We really need to know how to get rid of them. I have called exterminators with no success. Please help.

Garter snakes are considered garden beneficials - they feed on small rodents that we consider pests. If you have them in numbers, I suspect you have a lot of food for them, so you should consider getting rid of the prey. Reduce the vole and mouse population and you reduce the snake population. You can also limit their habitat: clear out debris, mulch, rocks, etc., where the snakes hide. Read here:
