Oak tree

Asked October 15, 2019, 1:10 PM EDT

We have a young oak tree that has brown nodules about the size of a garbanzo bean...these nodules are in groups of 6 or 7 on several branches. This summer wasps were very attracted to them and there were at least 15 wasps buzzing around and sitting on the nodules. This was not true of other oak trees in the area. We live in Parker, CO. Is this a natural phenomenon for an oak tree? Thank you.

I don't believe that this is a natural occurrence for Oak trees. Could you send us some photos of the infestation? Plus photos of the nodules? Thanks
