Arborist Tom Lupp suggested we contact you. He recommended treating our mature beach trees with Reliant Systemic fungicide and Pentra-Bark penetrating surfactant . We have done this treatment, three times since 2010. The infection subdues but shows up again as pitch canker, on one tree' the bleeding is oily and brown and on the second tree is greenish brown, six feet from the ground and higher. We need an expert opinion as to how often can we do the treatment. Also we want to consult on the dose. We are using 62.4 Reliant plus 62.4 fl oz water plus 3 fl oz of Pentra-bark. The application is basal bark spray.

We recommend that your arborist contact the University of Maryland Diagnostic Laboratory (which is for commercial use.) Have each infection tested to pinpoint the kind of phytophthora involved. The Lab will also advise on treatment and dosage.
