Are my arbor vitaes sick?

Asked October 11, 2019, 4:20 PM EDT

Hello, I have three arbor vitae in my backyard. During this summer exoensive brown areas showed in all of them. Is this due to drought or is it a sign of a disease and if so what should I do to cure them? Thanks you,

This does not look like a disease. This looks like decline due to excessive moisture from last season and drought given the most recent conditions. All you can do is prune dead branches and this will affect most of the plant. The trees will not return to their former glory. You will have to replace the trees.
