Every time I walk across my backyard I find myself in a sea of flying insects. Not sure what they are or if they should be treated. Not whiteflies. Thanks in advance for your response.

If this is something that has just been happening just this summer, then I would not be too concerned about it especially if they are not biting.
If this happens every year, then there likely is some source that might be treated or eliminated. I'm thinking of nearby compost piles, small water sources, and the like. We would need to know the source and the specific type of insect to provide control options.
