Is euonymus alatus considered an invasive species in Maryland?
If okay to use in our area, is it deer resistant?
Thank you

Hi - Yes, Euonymus alatus is invasive in Maryland and we do not recommend planting it. If you are looking for a shrub that provides a similar red foliage color in the fall, a few options are listed on this page, https://extension.umd.edu/hgic/topics/burning-bush

Rutgers University has a great online tool for checking deer-resistance ratings. https://njaes.rutgers.edu/deer-resistant-plants/
