What is affecting my mint plant?

Asked October 2, 2019, 6:55 AM EDT

The below picture is a transplant from my mint plant that was consumed by the black discoloration of the leaves. Is it a fungal infection and what can I do to save this transplant which I’m growing inside for winter ? Thanks. Anne

Thank you for the photos. This looks like a minor leaf spot issue. Mints are susceptible to some types of fungal diseases. You can pick off the symptomatic leaves and discard them. Be careful about watering and avoid over-watering. The surface of the soil should feel dry between waterings. Also, make sure the plant is in a container that drains well. Mints like to be in a location with full sun to partial shade.
