Day-lily RUST problem

Asked October 1, 2019, 1:48 PM EDT

Regency Heights & Stella d'oros suddenly have yellow spots front/back foliage with yellow streaks.

I had yellow streaks during the summer. Since I was using a Peat Moss Potting (soil-less) I added limestone & problem appeared to be done. Green Foliage til Sept into Oct.

What should I do? Today I pulled dead Foliage & sprayed with Garden Safe Fungicide 3.

Thank you for your questions. I cannot explain why no one in your state Extension system has responded to you, and perhaps the annual dieback of your plants has obviated the problem. If not, I suggest you take plant samples to your county Extension office for examination. Rust is a specific fungus, and accurate ID of a problem is necessary before a treatment can be recommended. Your plants may have other issues, but I cannot diagnose without at least a photo. Here is contact information about your local office: Good luck!

Because I was convinced my Day-Lilies had rust I cut back to the white below the green. Then I sprayed with Spectracide IMMUNOX Multi-Purpose Fungicide. The day-lilies rebounded with only several treatments. I guess I should close my question till I notice an issue again. I have no pictures of the presumed infected plants. Thank you,

You’re welcome! Sometimes, local experts are better able to help than the Internet. Other times, Mother Nature ‘works’ better than chemicals. Consulting with your county Experts in a timely fashion may help determine which!
