Tiny black bugs

Asked September 29, 2019, 10:31 AM EDT

I have these in my house. Mostly bathrooms. What are they and how do I get rid of them? I vacuum them up and they appear dead when I grab them but sometimes they are not. Pictures have pen tip for scale. Guess they are .02” wide x .075” long

It has taken awhile, but I think these bugs may be Foreign Grain Beetles. See:

They live in wet, moldy areas which explains why they are in your bathrooms. There existence might mean you have some mold or mildew in the bathroom wall board.

They are harmless and will eventually go away.

Thanks. Our home is new construction. We moved in around end of April 2019. The new construction materials could be problem. Explains perfectly of what is going on. Hopefully house will dry out this winter. Your efforts are very much appreciated!!!
