Found an online NW source for the meadowfoam seeds. Now - when is the best time to plant

Asked September 26, 2019, 11:10 PM EDT

in Yamhill County. Given that these are annuals, would they not drop seed in the fall? If so could I simply spread seed as the fall rains begin?

I am putting these in so that I may have yet another supply of food for honeybees in 2020.

Thank you for your question. Glad you found some! Although the plant would, in nature, die off in the fall leaving seeds, those seeds are always susceptible to washing and blowing away, or meeting another fate. Hold on to them until spring and plant them after danger of frost has passed. Here are planting instructions from one seed company: https://www.outsidepride.com/seed/ground-cover-seed/limnanthes-douglasii.html Good luck!
